My recent work explores mountain landscape and culture – specifically I am interested in rural mining communities. Inspired by the historically popular song "Big Rock Candy Mountain," this project makes reference to social and economic inequalities of rural Appalachia. The narrative is also an escapist dream juxtaposed with a dystopian vision of ecological destruction.
